Intro:
What comes to your mind when i say the word “war”? Suffering and pain? Perhaps worse than that? What if i told you there was a “war” that started with 80 people and somehow ended with 81 people? You would say “no way”, “ok, now you are lying and making stuff up”. Buuuuuut it’s actually real lmao, let me explain.
Explanation:

So in 1866, the Austro-Prussian War broke out, and in that war, Austria’s ally Liechtenstein (a tiny country in Europe apparently) sent their army that consisted of 80 people (which is hilarious tbh)[1] and they set up to defend a mountain pass that is named “Stelvio Pass”, which is in the Alps on the border near Italy apparently.[2] But even after waiting for a while, nobody showed up. And the war ended.[3] When they got back home, they joined the welcoming ceremony/celebration that was made for them, and as the “legends” say, they came back home with 81 people in total.[1] Now on the matter of who the 81st person is, it remains an enigma until this day.[4] Some people say it’s an Austrian officer,[5] but some also say it’s a dude from Italy that they became friends with (yes, literally).[6]
Conlusion:
In conclusion, a so-called army of 80 people defended somewhere from nobody for a while, and while returning they made a friend and they brought him back to celebrate the war’s ending??? I have no idea how this happened, but i am sure this is one of the funniest things ever. They literally found a bro while coming back home.... So yeah, i guess that’s about it, i don’t know what else to add to be honest :) Soo i guess i will see you lovely people on the next one.
